Why Love Stanislaus Culinary Arts Institute ?

The Stanislaus Culinary Arts Institute (SCAI) is located in Oakdale, California and mainly serves the populations of Oakdale and Riverbank with some students from other surrounding cities.  SCAI students have the option to be on modified independent study, which allows for four days per week of classroom time combined with an Agriculture class and Culinary Arts class.

The CTE classes on campus provide students with valuable job skills. The ROP Agriculture Farm to Fork program includes a greenhouse and outdoor farm garden.  Current projects include the addition of a hydroponics component and chicken house.  The chickens will provide eggs in addition to the vegetables that are already grown for the Culinary Arts program.

The Culinary Arts program provides students with a hands-on approach to learning the intricacies of hospitality food preparation and customer service. All students enrolled in the culinary program earn their Food Handler’s Certification, which is required to work in the hospitality field. Students must maintain the safety and sanitation standards throughout their training.

Stanislaus Culinary café bakery items are prepared fresh and made available for purchase by the public every week. By working in the Culinary café, students gain further employability skills such as customer service and point of sale experience.
